As part of the Autodesk 2024 Student Design Competition, Kadence-sponsored Master’s student Erki Klamas from Staffordshire University worked alongside Kadence Junior Designer Michael Coyne to explore how a non-automotive brand’s DNA could inspire a unique vehicle concept. Their choice? NVIDIA—a leader in AI and computing, renowned for driving technological advancements.
To align with NVIDIA’s core values of performance, efficiency, and innovation, the team selected a Le Mans Prototype (LMP)—a platform known for pioneering automotive technologies that later influence consumer vehicles. Using Autodesk Alias & VRED, they developed a concept that reflects NVIDIA’s identity while pushing the limits of automotive design.
A glimpse into the design process
From early research and sketching to advanced digital modelling, the project integrates NVIDIA’s technological ethos into the vehicle’s form, aerodynamics, and design language. Final renders, Alias modelling snapshots, and a short, animated video showcases the full journey from concept to completion.
This competition is part of Kadence’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of automotive designers through its graduate development program in partnership with Staffordshire University. The winners of the competition will be invited to exhibit their work at the Automotive Innovation Forum (AIF) in Germany, 2025.
A special thank you to Autodesk, Pierre-Paul, Victor Perez, and Danny Tierney for their guidance and support throughout the project.
You can see the inspiration behind the design as well as renders of the final design itself down below. Keep an eye out for our next post when we will share the video presenting the eye-catching concept Erki developed.
