Kadence launches to provide drive to automotive development

Today marks a significant step forward for the automotive design services industry with the launch of Kadence, formerly known as SINO Engineering. The announcement was made at the official launch, which took place across Kadence’s studios and offices in Shanghai, China, and the United Kingdom.

This latest evolution for the business comes following the merger of SINO Engineering and Tarus Shanghai, representing the fusion of industry-leading automotive design, engineering and model build services under the single Kadence banner.

The launch of the Kadence brand is the latest stage of a two-decade-long journey for its automotive design and engineering experts. It represents their vision for taking the business forward as it continues to deliver innovative automotive development projects in partnership with its industry-leading clients and OEMs.

Kadence’s global centres of excellence allow the team to drive progress for clients, be it design concept visualisation, engineering services and manufacturing feasibility, through to full-scale clay model build, bringing automotive visions to life. The inspiration for the new Kadence brand derives from the team’s ability to provide high-tempo design services with speed and accuracy, in step with clients’ best-in-class standards.

Commenting on the Kadence launch, Antony Ward, Owner and Managing Director, said: “This is an exciting day for both the team and our industry, and I am confident in the offering we are able to bring to our clients and partners with the launch of Kadence.

“As SINO Engineering we built up a reputation for excellence and expertise over a period of almost 20 years, working with world-leading car manufacturers and their development teams around the globe. With the incorporation of Tarus into our business in 2018, we added best-in-class model build and show car creation to our service offering.

“As Kadence we combine the best of both businesses to provide a seamless offering in support of our clients’ creative vision.”

Kadence offers 3 main service lines:

  • Concept to digital model – Kadence’s primary role within this service group is to support the manifestation of creative ideas. This includes 3D digital modelling true to design intent, studio engineering and feasibility, class A surfacing, and concept visualisation.
  • Engineering – the Kadence team takes full responsibility for the complete vehicle architecture of client concepts including packaging and layout, whole vehicle engineering feasibility, assembly, and manufacturing feasibility, material selection, and weight optimisation.
  • Physical Model Build – Kadence’s team of experienced clay modelling experts are able to apply aesthetic intelligence to push the boundaries of what is possible in terms of form and shape providing the fast interpretation of ideas and cohesive integration with digital data and CNC processes.

Kadence will continue to collaborate on projects from its Shanghai (China), and UK locations, led by its founder and Managing Director, Antony Ward.
